UNRELEASED CONCEPT DESIGN SKETCHES FROM “BACK TO THE FUTURE - THE RIDE!”

Test Slide.jpg

In commemoration of the grand opening of Back to the Future - the Ride in 1991, a 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Print Collection is now available for collectors and fans of the ride. Printed on sturdy card stock, these concept art prints come with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by artist and designer, Edward Eyth, with the edition number indicated.

Only 100 sets (20 unique concept designs per set) will be produced.

The 20 concept design sketches, based on a storyline developed in early preproduction for the attraction, depict more extensive time travel scenes featuring: a trip to Camelot, race through an Egyptian pyramid, along with dramatic action sequences that didn’t make it into the final attraction. In storage for more than 30 years, the forgotten original design drawings were recovered this year and promptly acquired by the Hollywood Art Museum for its permanent collection.

Collectors and fans can take advantage of this unique opportunity to go back to the past and own part of the history of Back to the Future - The Ride!

FUTURE RETROSPECTIVE

“In 1988, I was recruited as a ‘Futurist Design Consultant’ for the film ‘Back to the Future Part II.’ The assignment included imagining concepts for futuristic devices and the technology featured in Marty McFly’s condo in the distant future of 2015. The pizza hydrator, wearable video glasses, large flat panel TV monitor, George McFly’s levitating inversion device were among some of the many concepts I developed, along with a variety of robots, AI devices, wrist communicator watches, set designs, and a few costume concepts. Being part of the production team that created this enduring film trilogy was a career highlight.” - Edward Eyth
